High discharge rates indicate a LiFePO4 battery’s ability to charge and discharge at a higher rate compared to a standard battery. These high-rate batteries are categorized by discharge and charge rates, where “C” denotes the current ratio for charging and discharging. For instance, a 1200mAh battery discharging at 0.2C draws 240mA, and at 1C, it draws 1200mA. Typically, high discharge rate batteries can charge quickly, but discharge rates are often higher than charge rates due to the limitations of lithium-ion mobility within the battery during charging.
